Job Description
Role To assist members and potential members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments; explains services, respond to problems, and direct members to the appropriate people. Major Duties and Responsibilities Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective and accurate performance of teller functions by representing the Credit Union in a courteous and professional manner. Receives share deposits and loan payments. Disburses cash or check withdrawals. Processes cash advances, travelers' checks, cashiers' checks, money orders and wire transfers. Verifies transactions. Monitors deposit amounts and examines documents for endorsement and negotiability. Detects and resolves discrepancies promptly. Balances daily transactions and verifies cash totals. Investigates and resolves out-of-balance conditions. Assures that appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared. Answers questions and solves problems for members by listening to problems, collecting data, securing answers and reporting results to the inquiring party. Resolves member bookkeeping and checking account problems. Take stop payment orders. Orders checks for members' accounts. Completes appropriate forms for member's needs. Acts as liaison between members and various organizations and departments. Keeps supervisor informed of area activities of any significant problems or concerns. Maintains member account information on computer system and ensures privacy of member account information. Performs file maintenance and account changes as needed.
