Service Advisor Whitley Automotive - Locust, NC $70,000-$90,000+ Monday-Thursday No Regular Fridays or Weekends We're looking for an experienced Service Advisor who knows how to build relationships, communicate value, drive sales, and become an important part of where this shop is headed next. Whitley Automotive has been serving the Locust, NC community since 2009. They're a locally owned, six-bay shop specializing primarily in Domestic and Asian vehicles, including some light-duty diesel. Our approach is built around trust, transparency, integrity, and taking care of the customer, the car, and the company. This is a shop that believes in training its people, developing future leaders, and creating a place where employees can build a career, not just collect a paycheck. Why This Role Is Different First, the schedule. Monday through Thursday, 7:00 AM-5:30 PM. Whitley Automotive moved to a four-day workweek intentionally, and production actually increased after the change. The team typically stays at or below 40 hours per week because work-life balance isn't just something we talk about. Second, there is real opportunity here. The immediate need is for a strong, experienced Service Advisor, but the long-term opportunity can be much bigger. We are actively developing the next generation of leadership for the company. For someone with the right skills, attitude, and goals, there is potential to grow into a General Manager position and possibly even ownership down the road. What You'll Be Doing You'll help own the customer experience from the first phone call through vehicle pickup.
That means:
Building genuine relationships with customers Asking the right questions and documenting concerns accurately Presenting recommendations and explaining value clearly Handling price objections confidently Setting expectations around time, cost, and next steps Creating accurate estimates and repair orders Following up on declined work Managing parts ordering and status Working closely with technicians to keep workflow moving Staying organized while balancing customers, sales, phones, and the day-to-day activity of the shop We use Tekmetric, digital vehicle inspections, and clearly defined processes to help the team stay connected and organized. This is also a sales-focused position. Who We're Looking For Ideally, you have 3+ years of automotive service advising experience and already understand how to manage a busy service drive while keeping the customer experience personal. Independent repair shop experience is great, strong dealership experience can also work for the right candidate. More importantly, you are: Personable and comfortable talking with customers Customer-focused Sales-driven Organized A strong listener Team-oriented Confident on the phone Comfortable discussing money and handling objections Interested in learning, training, and continuing to improve A valid driver's license is required.
Compensation Expected earning range:
$70,000-$90,000+ annually There is no hard cap on earning potential. The initial onboarding period includes hourly pay plus commission. After 90 days, the plan is designed to transition into a commission-driven compensation structure for someone who wants their income tied to their performance. A strong advisor performing at the shop's current goals can realistically earn around $85,000 annually, with room to grow beyond that.
