The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating transportation logistics, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. This position requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and proficiency in various transportation management systems. As a Service Dispatcher, you will be responsible for managing dispatch operations while maintaining high standards of customer service. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule transportation services to ensure timely deliveries. Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to optimize routing and enhance efficiency. Manage transportation planning and logistics for freight movement. Analyze data related to dispatch operations for continuous improvement. Maintain accurate records of shipments, including shipping and receiving documentation. Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems. Handle inquiries and resolve issues related to dispatching operations promptly. Input data accurately into transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine. Collaborate with third-party logistics providers (3PL) to streamline operations. Ensure compliance with fleet management protocols and safety regulations. Skills Proficient in dispatching with a solid understanding of transportation management principles. Strong analysis skills to evaluate operational data and make informed decisions. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on phone etiquette. Ability to type efficiently while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Familiarity with logistics concepts, supply chain processes, and transportation planning methodologies. Experience with AS400 or similar systems is a plus. Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes is beneficial. A proactive approach to problem-solving in fast-paced environments.
