Call Center Operator (Full-Time)
Location:
Geneva, NY (On-Site) Schedule Full-Time•72 Hours per Pay Period
Evening Shift:
3:00 PM•11:00 PM
Night Shift:
11:00 PM•7:00 AM Includes 2 night shifts per week Differentials Paid for Evening and Night Shifts Position Summary Join our team as a Call Center Operator, where you'll play a vital role in supporting hospital operations and delivering outstanding customer service. Under the supervision of the Director of Security, you will operate the Meridian I Telephone System console, manage the hospital's 24-hour answering service, paging system, and emergency response center, while providing courteous and professional assistance to patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. This position requires excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a calm, professional demeanor during emergency situations. Key Responsibilities Operate the Meridian I Telephone System console efficiently and accurately. Manage the hospital's 24-hour answering service and paging system. Respond to emergency communications and activate appropriate response procedures. Route incoming calls and provide accurate information to callers. Perform general clerical and administrative duties. Maintain confidentiality of patient and organizational information. Provide exceptional customer service consistent with our Healing Environment standards. Greet and assist patients, visitors, physicians, and staff in a courteous and professional manner. Work collaboratively with all hospital departments to ensure effective communication. Qualifications Education
Required:
High School Diploma or GED Preferred:
Business or Office Assistant degree Experience
Preferred:
Previous switchboard or call center operator experience Experience working with patients and/or handling emergency situations Skills & Abilities Outstanding customer service and communication skills Ability to remain calm and professional during busy or stressful situations Strong multitasking and organizational abilities Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Excellent interpersonal skills and teamwork Sensitive and reassuring approach when interacting with patients and families Ability to prioritize tasks while maintaining accuracy and professionalism Licensure/Certifications No licensure or professional certifications required.
