With locations in Tonawanda and Williamsville, our goal is to provide every customer with a welcoming and enjoyable shopping experience while celebrating Buffalo and Western New York. Position Overview Buffalo Gift Emporium is seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Seasonal Customer Service Associate. This position involves providing excellent customer service, processing sales, maintaining merchandise and store presentation, and helping with daily store operations. Employees will work independently during shifts, so the successful candidate must be dependable, self-motivated, attentive, and comfortable managing assigned responsibilities with limited direct supervision. Knowledge of Buffalo-area sports teams is helpful but not required. Schedule and Availability Applicants should generally be available for: Approximately 10-16 hours per week Weekend shifts with flexible availability Weekday shifts, generally from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday daytime shifts, generally from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m - A MUST Actual schedules may vary according to business and staffing needs. Anticipated weekly hours are not guaranteed for any specific duration. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional assistance. Answer questions and provide accurate product information and recommendations. Assist customers with purchasing decisions, inquiries, returns, and concerns in accordance with store policies. Accurately process cash, credit, and other transactions using the point-of-sale system. Count cash accurately, provide correct change, and complete opening and closing cash-drawer procedures. Restock shelves, fold apparel, price merchandise, and regularly organize product displays. Receive and organize shipments and assist with inventory counts and stock checks. Maintain a clean and orderly store, including vacuuming floors, dusting fixtures, and completing other routine cleaning duties. Communicate professionally with store vendors and assist with routine vendor inquiries. Work cooperatively with management and other employees to support efficient store operations. Follow store procedures relating to safety, security, cash handling, customer service, and loss prevention. Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned based on store needs. Qualifications Prior retail or customer-service experience is preferred but not required. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, punctual, organized, and attentive to detail. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Ability to remain productive and focused while working with limited direct supervision. Ability to count currency and provide correct change accurately. Basic proficiency using an iPad, mobile devices, point-of-sale equipment, and other electronic devices. Availability to work the listed daytime, evening, and weekend shifts. Physical Requirements The essential functions of this position include regularly standing and walking during a shift; bending, reaching, and handling merchandise; and lifting, carrying, and moving merchandise or packages weighing up to approximately 15 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
