Summary :
The benefits specialist is responsible for assisting with the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and short- and long-term disability. This position requires onsite presence once a week in Morrisville, North Carolina.
Responsibilities :
Review and approve benefits enrollments. Assists with new-hire orientations and new hire onboarding as it relates to benefits. Performs quality checks of benefits-related data. Assists employees regarding benefits eligibility. Assist employees with claim issues. Process life status changes. Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes, disability, and other general inquiries Responds to retirement plan inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts. Assists with the open enrollment process. Process life claims and assist beneficiaries. Assist with administration of voluntary benefits.

Education Requirements:
  • Associate's degree in HR or related field or equivalent.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Professional Experience Requirements:
  • With a Bachelor's degree, no experience required.
  • With an Associates degree, requires two (2) years of experience in HR and/or benefitsadministration.
  • With an high school diploma, requires six (6) years of experience in HR and/or benefitsadministration.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Excellent organizational and time management skills; Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, with a focus on Excel; Ability to maintain high level of accuracy; Good problem solving and decision making skills; Ability to work independently or as a team member; Commitment to confidentiality; Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
