Job Description
Position Overview Black Venom Products is hiring a full-time construction equipment mechanic to service and support our growing XCMG equipment line. The primary focus will be diagnosing, servicing, and repairing XCMG excavators, wheel loaders, skid steers, compact track loaders, and other construction equipment. This position requires strong mechanical, electrical, and welding skills. Many of our machines use Cummins or Kubota diesel engines, so familiarity, training, or certification with these engines is strongly preferred. The technician will also provide customer support and occasionally assist with Sentinel mobile slaughter trailers and other equipment sold or manufactured by our company. Compensation and Growth Annual salary of $50,000-$100,000 , based on experience, certifications, and capabilities Profit-sharing opportunities based on company and individual performance Opportunity to help build and lead our growing equipment service department Additional training and advancement opportunities Higher compensation available for technicians with strong diesel, electrical, hydraulic, welding, and customer-service experience Primary Responsibilities Diagnose, service, and repair XCMG construction equipment Diagnose and repair Cummins and Kubota diesel engines Troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, fuel, emissions, and electronic control systems Diagnose and repair 12-volt and 24-volt electrical systems Repair wiring, connectors, switches, sensors, relays, solenoids, lighting, and charging systems Use multimeters, scan tools, test lights, pressure gauges, and diagnostic software Perform MIG welding, cutting, grinding, fabrication, and equipment repairs Repair cracked or damaged brackets, attachments, guards, and equipment components Perform new-equipment inspections and pre-delivery setup Complete scheduled maintenance and warranty repairs Read wiring diagrams, hydraulic schematics, and service manuals Communicate with customers by phone, video call, email, and in person Document inspections, diagnostic results, labor, parts, and completed repairs Coordinate replacement parts and warranty claims Perform occasional field-service work at customer locations Occasionally diagnose and repair mobile slaughter trailer systems Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area Follow through with customers until their equipment is operating correctly Required Skills and Qualifications Experience repairing construction, agricultural, heavy, diesel, or industrial equipment Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills Electrical diagnostic and wiring-repair experience Ability to troubleshoot 12-volt and 24-volt systems MIG welding and metal-fabrication experience Ability to read wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics Experience using multimeters and other diagnostic tools Ability to work independently and complete repairs correctly Basic computer, email, and service-documentation skills Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record Willingness to travel occasionally for field-service work Preferred Qualifications Experience with Cummins and Kubota diesel engines Current or previous Cummins or Kubota certification Experience with Cummins INSITE, Kubota diagnostic software, or similar diagnostic programs Experience with excavators, wheel loaders, skid steers, and compact track loaders Knowledge of DPF, DOC, SCR, DEF, and regeneration systems Strong hydraulic diagnostic and repair experience Experience welding and repairing heavy-equipment components TIG or stick welding experience Refrigeration, generator, plumbing, or trailer repair experience CDL is helpful but not required Customer Service Expectations This is not strictly a shop position. The technician will communicate directly with customers and represent Black Venom Products in the field. The right person must be able to: Answer and return customer calls promptly Ask the right questions to diagnose equipment problems Explain repairs in clear, practical language Remain professional when a customer is frustrated or has equipment down Keep customers informed about repair progress Take ownership of service problems Follow through until the problem is resolved What We Are Looking For We are looking for someone who: Is dependable and shows up ready to work Enjoys solving mechanical and electrical problems Takes pride in completing repairs correctly Can weld and fabricate when needed Is willing to learn XCMG equipment and new diagnostic systems Treats customers and coworkers with respect Keeps accurate service and warranty records Understands that equipment downtime matters to the customer Wants an opportunity to grow with the company and share in its success Physical Requirements Ability to lift up to 75 pounds Ability to climb on equipment and work underneath machinery Ability to bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined areas Ability to safely operate welding and cutting equipment Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions Ability to travel to customer locations when required About Black Venom Products Black Venom Products is a division of Skousen Manufacturing LLC in Idaho Falls, Idaho.
