The role You're the person a homeowner reaches when their lights do something they didn't ask for. A zone drops out. The app won't reconnect after a new router...
Your job:
figure out what's wrong from a phone call, a photo, and a short video — then decide whether you can help fix it in five minutes or whether it needs a truck. What you'll do Handle inbound calls, texts, and emails from homeowners Run structured diagnostics: power, connectivity, app and firmware state, controller status Resolve what you can on first contact Hand off to field techs when it's genuinely needed Document everything in HubSpot so the tech shows up knowing what you already ruled out What you need Some customer-facing experience and real comfort with technology — you don't need a background in electronics, but you do need to be the person friends call when their WiFi breaks Ability to walk a nervous 65-year-old through a router reconnection without either of you losing the thread Willingness to work consistent hours Nice to have: HubSpot, help desk or ISP support, smart home or IoT experience Compensation $18+/hr.
