Position Summary :
Innovative Solutions seeks a Live Sound A/V Engineer to provide high-level technical, design, operation support for the Audio/Visual (A/V) line of business. The successful candidate possesses advanced design, engineering and programming skills with A/V and video teleconferencing systems used in commercial, house of worship, medical and educational fields; advanced training and extensive relevant experience regarding A/V systems; and demonstrated customer-facing communication skills with the ability to effectively interface at all levels of an organization. This position will require operating such systems when needed for production events and training including some weekends and Holidays.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Plan and configure A/V systems, including PA systems, wireless microphones, intercoms, and digital mixing consoles, preparing equipment as needed in the shop, and directing the on-site load in, implementation, operation, load out, and transportation of equipment Operate front-of-house (FOH) and monitor mixing consoles during live events, ensuring optimal sound quality Collaborate with producers, directors, and other technical teams to align audio, video, and lighting requirements with event goals. Diagnose and resolve audio issues quickly and efficiently during setup and live events and support other technicians with troubleshooting advice and support Manage and mentor technicians and other crew members to ensure smooth operation and setup. Ensure all equipment and practices meet industry safety and regulatory standards. Oversee the maintenance, repair, and inventory of A/V equipment Drive company owned trucks and vans with equipment and/or staff to and from event sites Other duties as assigned Read and interpret A/V systems drawings and specifications Provide control system design and programming Perform installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projects and metal fabrication Assist in creating department technical standards, processes and procedures Provide programming and technical direction to team when needed Mentor junior A/V engineers and technicians Install control programs and touch panel design onsite, offsite, and remotely in physical systems Perform commissioning and acceptance Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting as needed Demonstrate and train customers on installed systems. Produce hard-copy training materials and user guide as required. Assist manufacturers and customers with problem resolution as needed Travel to various job sites and provide installation and programing support as required
Skills and Abilities:
Proficient with test and calibration equipment Proficient in A/V-related programming languages Proficient in uploading and downloading software in embedded systems Proficient in control system design Understand DSP best practices and programming Ability to diagnose and test complex system problems Understanding of classified/unclassified video teleconferencing requirements and systems Advanced computer skills for the design, configuration, optimization and operation of AV equipment. Understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting pertaining to A/V and video teleconferencing (VTC) cybersecurity
