Herdsman
- Show Cattle Operation Full-Time (Part-Time Considered) | Four Leaf Cattle | Hubertus, WI We're looking for someone who loves show cattle, cares about building a better herd every year, and isn't afraid of the work it takes to get there.
At Four Leaf Cattle we raise and show elite Hereford cattle. We're a family crew, and we've grown to the point where we need another set of hands. This isn't a job where you watch cattle on a camera from the office, and it isn't cleaning pens from sunup to sundown either. You'll work with great cattle, help shape the future of the herd, and be part of an operation that's growing fast. What You'll Be Doing The work changes with the seasons, but caring for the cattle always comes first. On a typical day, about half your time goes to the show string (feeding, rinsing, washing, blowing) and the other half goes to keeping the rest of the place running. Feed and care for the show string and cow herd Daily hair care and show prep Assist with calving, weaning, and breaking calves Help manage breeding schedules, AI, and embryo calves during breeding season Prep sale cattle: weaning, breaking, grooming, and facility setup Haul cattle to and from sales and co-op herds Keep barns, pens, and waters clean Maintain fences and handle general farm repairs Manage feed inventory, ordering, and deliveries Hold down the fort when were on the show road How the Work Changes Through the Year Mid-January

You may help at a show now and then, but your main job is at home. The season finishes at the state fair. Late August
September:
Calf work picks up. You'll wean and break calves, prep sale cattle, pick up purchased cattle, and help get the show string ready for the winter majors. October- mid-
January:
Majors season. Were on the road a lot again, and you'll keep the herd, the facilities, and the cattle at home on track. Who We're Looking For Someone who loves show cattle and wants to be part of improving a herd, not just maintaining one Willing to put in the work, and takes pride in doing it right Handles cattle with confidence, patience, and respect Pays attention to detail: clean barns, fed cattle, schedules on track Stays busy without being told and adapts as the seasons change Works well alone or with a crew Can work in any weather without complaining Can run basic farm equipment and pull a trailer Show cattle experience is a plus, but we'll train the right person Hours We're hiring for a full-time team member, but we'll consider part-time for the right person. Hours flex with the season, and show season and the majors are the busiest times.
