The Associate Technical Designer is responsible for creating specifications for each style and ensuring that the fit of all products is reflected as design has indicated for all samples and production. This role is an in office role, located in Southern Tide's downtown Greenville SC office. Candidates must have experience in tech design and live, or be willing to relocate to Greenville, SC.
Crew Position:
Measure and check construction details on initial samples, salesman samples and pre-production samples. Ensure that all fit and construction details are communicated to manufacturers in tech packs. Develop product specifications as needed. Order any sew by samples that are required. Work with design to create new silhouettes each season. Create and maintain fit request for new styles each season and maintain that we receive these samples and send feedback to manufacturers. Review garments with designers, identify problem areas, and suggest and execute fit adjustments to resolve fit problems. Create and maintain pre-production request and samples each season. Ensure that pre-production samples are measuring to approved specs. Communicate fit changes and fit approvals to manufacturers, request revised samples if necessary and update records accordingly. Seek new ways to make the fit process more efficient and share ideas and recommendations with the team. Communicate with cross functional teams if there are question on fit. Improve fit of current styles based on streamlining fit of all categories.
