Job Description
About the Role Ahem is looking for a Fashion Designer & Fit Specialist to join our team! This is a client-facing role focused on fit, fashion, and service . You'll work directly with clients to understand what they want, evaluate how their garments fit, recommend alterations or customizations, and help bring completely custom garments to life. Our work specializes in bridal, formalwear, custom design, and heirloom gown redesign , giving you the opportunity to work with unique and meaningful garments while helping clients create something they feel truly confident in. You'll be the connection between the client and our production team. You'll determine what a garment needs, communicate the work clearly, and collaborate with our team to bring the finished garment to life. What You'll Do Meet with clients and understand their needs, preferences, and goals. Evaluate garments and determine the best alterations, fit adjustments, or customizations. Fit and pin garments accurately and confidently. Advise clients on fit, proportion, styling, and possible garment changes. Work extensively with bridal gowns, formalwear, and other special occasion garments. Help clients explore creative options for custom designs and heirloom gown redesigns. Communicate fitting notes and the scope of work clearly to our Dallas production team. Collaborate with the production team to ensure garments are completed as intended. Conduct follow-up fittings and evaluate the finished work. Identify opportunities to improve the garment or client experience. Help create a welcoming, professional, and dignifying experience for every client. What We're Looking For Experience in fashion design, alterations, fitting, styling, garment construction, or a related field. A strong understanding of garment construction and fit. A good eye for proportion, silhouette, and detail. The ability to look at a garment and determine what it needs. Comfortable working directly with clients and making professional recommendations. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Creative problem-solving skills. Ability to fit and pin garments accurately. Someone who takes pride in their work and in the experience they create for clients.
