This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in learning the floral industry while working in a creative, fast-paced environment. Previous professional floral design experience perferred but is not required. We are willing to train the right candidate who has a positive attitude, strong work ethic, attention to detail, and willingness to learn. The Floral Assistant will help with flower processing, arrangement preparation, customer service, deliveries, shop organization, and general support for everyday orders, sympathy flowers, weddings, and special events. Key Responsibilities Floral & Design Support Receive, unpack, process, hydrate, and properly store fresh flowers. Clean and prepare flowers and greenery for designers. Prepare vases, containers, floral foam, mechanics, ribbon, and other supplies. Assist the Lead Floral Designer with everyday arrangements, sympathy designs, weddings, and event florals. Make bows and perform basic floral preparation as trained. Maintain and organize floral coolers. Monitor flowers and remove damaged or expired product. Assist with event preparation, packing, loading, setup, and breakdown as needed. Customer Service & Retail Greet customers warmly and professionally. Assist customers with basic floral purchases and gift selections. Answer phones and take accurate customer information. Assist with order entry and point-of-sale transactions after training. Help customers select grab-and-go arrangements and merchandise. Maintain a welcoming, service-oriented atmosphere. Keep workstations, counters, sinks, coolers, and retail areas clean and organized. Wash and sanitize buckets, vases, tools, and containers. Restock supplies and notify management when inventory is running low. Help receive and organize floral and supply deliveries. Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned. Follow shop procedures for cleanliness, flower care, safety, and customer service. Qualifications We are looking for someone who: Is dependable, punctual, and ready to work. Has a friendly and professional personality. Communicates respectfully with customers and coworkers. Is comfortable taking direction from the Lead Floral Designer and management. Is willing to learn floral techniques and shop procedures. Pays attention to details and follows instructions. Can work independently after training while also functioning well as part of a team. Can remain productive during slower periods without constant direction. Is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, particularly during holidays. Has reliable transportation. Is comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting approximately 25-40 pounds. Is available for some Saturdays and increased hours during Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, prom, wedding season, and other peak periods. Preferred, But Not Required Retail or customer service experienceFloral shop, event, hospitality, or creative-industry experience. Basic knowledge of flowers and plants. Experience using a POS or order-entry system.
