Maya Angelou Shop Assistant/Floral Designer:

Part Time We are looking to fill a part time position as a Floral Shop Assistant/Floral Designer with day time hours approx 3 days per week, with availability on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. Ability to help with late night "strike" tear down services after weddings a couple shifts per month.

• Shop assistance includes processing flowers, unboxing vases, watering plants, etc.
• Customer service to help take phone orders and assist walk-in customers
• General Shop cleaning and maintenance including sweeping floors, cleaning buckets, vases, etc.
• Assisting in setting up/delivering/breaking down of weddings and events
• Picking up flowers and supplies from our local wholesaler
• Entry level floral design including daily arrangements and intro into wedding design.

Qualifications:

• Previous floral experience is ideal but not necessary, just an awesome attitude. This job for energetic, quick thinkers who like variety and have a creative eye. This is perfect for someone who's been wanting to get into the floral industry and stay here, as the opportunity to move into a full time experienced designer is available
• Must be comfortable driving your own reliable vehicle for occasional wedding set ups.

Ideally own a roomy vehicle such as SUV, Mini Van, or hatch back. Company Delivery van is provided for larger set ups, but your personal vehicle is also occasionally used, with mileage compensation provided.

Pay:

Base Pay dependent upon experience starting from $17/per hour and up
