POSITION SUMMARY
We seek to hire a positive, energetic, and self-motivated Layout Artist to design customer sign orders. A top priority will be the creation of digital proofs to support a fast turnaround time for our customers' requests. This position will support customer inquiries and order/proof layout updates via phone and email. This individual must be comfortable and experienced with Adobe Illustrator.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Create and submit customer-driven digital sign proofs that communicate messages clearly with an emphasis on strong design while providing the best solutions for our customers in a fast-paced environment. Follow up on customer feedback and proof revisions with timely, professional, and courteous correspondence and updates. Shift focus as needed to maintain desirable turnaround times in all order queues. Initiative to quickly gain intimate knowledge of our products, materials, and services.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Take the initiative to train in production departments so you can be of assistance to Vinyl, Quality Control, Engraving, or Sublimation. Answer customer phone calls with questions pertaining to design. Contribute to departmental discussions about operations and growth. Assist with excellent design to support our marketing efforts and product prototypes. Be an active part of community outreach (including being involved in our volunteering efforts and Culture Committee.) Attend trade shows, local events, networking groups, and other community functions. Research industry trends and educate co-workers on the research you've found. Additional duties assigned by management. Have a good time and make our company better because of your employment here.
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS
Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator is a basic requirement of this job position. Mastery of design principles, especially as applied to text/print layout and font treatments. Strong understanding of layout principles. Must have superior attention to details AND accuracy.
GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

At least two years of experience working in the sign industry or in a production/quality control environment is preferred. Must have excellent adaptability and resourcefulness. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) that contribute positively to both our customers and company culture. Must be able to work effectively with other departments within the company to understand their requirements and factor this information into serving our customers. Must be able to communicate openly with team members and management about ideas, problems, needs, etc.
