## Your Responsibilities As an Engineer, Hydraulic Systems for John Deere's Construction & Forestry (C&F) division in Dubuque, IA you will:- Lead the design for hydraulic pumps, power control, hydraulic valves, and fluid conveyance components
- Create product design guidelines, design books, drawings, and component technical specifications
- Diagnose hydraulic system issues during new product development and support test activities
- Support prototype builds, production launches, testing, and customer field evaluations
- Participate in print reviews and design reviews for new products
- Work with test engineers, supply management, and quality to deliver optimized solutions Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position. ## What Skills You Need
- 1 or more years of previous product design engineering experience which may include internships or personal projects
- Strong desire and ability to learn and apply hydraulic system/component design principles to ongoing design activities
- Experience with 3D modeling tools, such as CREO or
SOLIDWORKS
- Demonstrated experience analyzing technical data, considering multiple alternatives, and making data-driven decisions
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated organizational, communication, and leadership skills
- A willingness to investigate emerging issues, determine root cause, and drive corrective action
- Ability and willingness to travel both domestic and internationally, up to 10% ## What Makes You Stand Out
- Hands-on experience designing or testing hydraulic systems
- Experience using modeling and simulation tools to analyze hydraulic performance, system behavior, or component sizing.
- Understanding of mobile hydraulic components, including pumps, valves, cylinders, motors, and control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical or fluid power problems using data-driven root cause analysis.
- Strong curiosity, initiative, and collaboration skills with a track record of learning quickly and working effectively across engineering disciplines.
- Experience working with suppliers in the application of hydraulic components
- Experience in the automotive/heavy on-road/off-road industries
- Familiarity with operating Construction, Forestry, or Ag off-road equipment ## Education Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
