Interior Engineering Design Department The Position:
The Interior Trim Engineer would support design, development, and release efforts concerning interior trim components, such as pillar trim, carpet, door trim, and headliners,for Hyundai's North American (NA) vehicle programs, while driving innovation in cost, mass, technology, performance, and qualityWhat You Will Do:
Design, develop, and release interior trim components (e.g., pillar trim, carpet, door trim, headliners, etc.) for NA programsLead engineering development from early concept through mass production using cradle-to-grave product development best practicesDevelop innovative engineering solutions to improve the cost, weight, performance, quality, and manufacturing of interior trim componentsGenerate and complete advanced development projects focused on part and system-level improvements for future NA vehiclesAssess current designs and perform competitor benchmarking to recommend engineering improvementsCreate, analyze, and present technical reports to communicate project status, risks, and results to internal and external stakeholdersCollaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and global counterparts to ensure successful program executionTravel up to 15% of the time, both domestically and internationally What You Will Bring to theRole:
Bachelor's degree in an engineering-related discipline3+ years of professional experience with interior trim design and release responsibilitiesSound understanding of interior trim components (e.g., pillar trim, carpet, door trim, headliners, etc.)Experience in cradle-to-grave product development best practices and processesKnowledge of US regulations applicable to automotive productsFamiliarity with design, manufacturing, and assembly processes concerning interior trim componentsProficiency with CAD software (e.g., CATIA V6, NX, Solidworks, etc.)CATIA V5
experience highly preferred, but not requiredAbility to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholdersExcellenttime management, self-management, and organization skillsStrong written, oral, and interpersonal skillsValid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving recordWhat Hyundai Can Offer You:
