Sales & Design About TruWood Cabinetry TruWood Cabinetry is a growing cabinetry company serving builders, contractors, dealers, designers, and other industry professionals. We focus on quality cabinetry, responsive service, accurate design support, and reliable project execution. As we grow our Orlando location, we are looking for a detail-oriented and customer-focused Kitchen & Bath Designer to join our team. Position Summary The Kitchen & Bath Designer will work directly with customers, contractors, builders, and the TruWood sales team to create accurate and functional kitchen, bathroom, and cabinetry designs. This position is responsible for reviewing plans and measurements, creating cabinet layouts using 2020 Design , preparing estimates and quotes, making design revisions, verifying cabinet selections, and helping move projects from initial design through final order. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with customers, and experienced with kitchen cabinetry and design software. Key Responsibilities Create kitchen, bathroom, laundry, office, and other cabinetry layouts using 2020 Design . Review customer measurements, architectural plans, floor plans, and project specifications. Develop accurate 2D layouts, elevations, and 3D renderings for customers. Recommend cabinet sizes, configurations, accessories, fillers, panels, moldings, and other components required for a complete installation. Prepare accurate cabinet quotes and estimates based on approved designs. Assist customers in selecting cabinet styles, colors, finishes, hardware, and accessories. Make design revisions based on customer feedback and project requirements. Verify all cabinet sizes, quantities, specifications, and accessories before orders are submitted. Identify potential design conflicts, clearance issues, appliance conflicts, or measurement concerns before ordering. Work closely with the sales team to support new and existing customer accounts. Communicate with contractors, builders, designers, and homeowners regarding design questions and revisions. Maintain organized project files, drawings, quotes, customer communications, and order documentation. Assist with showroom customers and walk-in design consultations when needed. Provide customers with professional and timely follow-up throughout the design and ordering process. Coordinate with customer service, warehouse, purchasing, and management to resolve project issues. Review incoming orders for accuracy before submission to the manufacturer or warehouse. Stay familiar with TruWood cabinet lines, specifications, construction, modifications, accessories, and product availability. Maintain a clean and professional showroom and design workspace. Perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications Previous experience in kitchen and bath design, cabinetry design, interior design, or a related field preferred. Experience using 2020 Design / 2020 Design Live strongly preferred. Knowledge of kitchen cabinet construction, cabinet sizing, fillers, panels, moldings, accessories, and installation requirements. Ability to read architectural drawings, floor plans, elevations, and measurements. Strong mathematical and measurement skills. Excellent attention to detail. Strong communication and customer service skills. Comfortable working directly with contractors, builders, designers, dealers, and homeowners. Ability to manage multiple projects and revisions at the same time. Strong computer skills and ability to learn company quoting, ordering, and ERP systems. Experience with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, or similar business software. Experience working in a cabinet showroom, kitchen dealer, building materials company, or cabinet manufacturer is a plus. Bilingual abilities are a plus but not required. Preferred Experience Candidates with experience in any of the following will be especially valuable: 2020 Design Kitchen cabinetry Bath cabinetry RTA or semi-custom cabinetry Cabinet estimating and quoting Cabinet ordering Builder or contractor projects Multifamily projects Reading construction plans Showroom sales Interior design Cabinet installation knowledge Skills We Are Looking For Design Accuracy Cabinet orders must be correct before they are submitted. Strong attention to dimensions, clearances, cabinet sizes, panels, fillers, and accessories is essential. Customer Service You should be comfortable communicating professionally with customers and helping them work through design decisions and revisions. Organization You may be managing multiple projects at different stages at the same time. Problem Solving Kitchen designs frequently require creative solutions when dealing with appliances, walls, windows, plumbing locations, and unusual room dimensions. Communication You must be able to clearly explain designs, product options, limitations, and required changes to customers and team members. Efficiency Designs and revisions should be completed accurately while maintaining reasonable turnaround times. Typical Workflow A Kitchen & Bath Designer at TruWood may: Receive measurements, plans, or drawings from a customer or salesperson. Review the project requirements and cabinet selections. Build the kitchen or bathroom layout in 2020 Design. Create renderings and elevations. Prepare the cabinet estimate and quote. Send the design to the customer for review. Complete revisions as requested. Review the final design for accuracy. Confirm cabinet SKUs, panels, fillers, moldings, accessories, and quantities. Prepare the project for final approval and ordering. The employee may occasionally need to: Walk through the showroom and warehouse. Handle cabinet doors, samples, catalogs, and display materials. Take or verify basic measurements. Visit project sites when necessary. Sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
