Competitive hourly rate based on experience. About Us We are a boutique interior design firm specializing in high-end residential projects. Our work requires exceptional organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an outstanding client experience. We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented bookkeeper to manage our day-to-day financial operations and help keep our business running smoothly. Position Summary The Part-Time Bookkeeper will oversee the firm's financial records, maintain accurate accounting, and support project financial management. This role is ideal for someone with definitive experience in bookeeping and accounting for service-based businesses, and who enjoys working independently, making sense of numbers and data, and takes pride in accuracy. Responsibilities- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Record and reconcile all bank and credit card transactions
- Prepare and send client invoices
- Monitor outstanding invoices and follow up on payments
- Reconcile monthly bank and credit card statements
- Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
- Maintain vendor payment records
- Assist with project budgeting and job cost tracking
- Prepare monthly financial reports, including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet
- Coordinate with our CPA for year-end tax preparation
- Maintain organized digital financial files and documentation
- Sales tax filings
- Payroll tax filings Qualifications
- 3+ years of bookkeeping experience
- Degree or Certification with proven education in accounting & bookeeping
- Experience with QuickBooks Online (required)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Experience with professional service firms or interior design, architecture, or construction is a plus
- Experience with project management or invoicing software (Studio Designer or similar) is a plus What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is proactive, dependable, and highly organized.
