HosScans is a growing North Texas firm at the intersection of commercial interior design, drafting, and cutting-edge LiDAR reality capture. We're seeking a Commercial Interior Designer to join our collaborative team and work directly alongside our registered NCIDQ interior designer on a steady backlog of commercial projects. This is an ideal opportunity for a commercial interior design professional who wants to sharpen their construction-document skills, build meaningful NCIDQ experience, and grow into a leadership role as we expand. You'll work on impactful commercial projects, including:
- Corporate & office interiors
- Commercial tenant improvements and finish-outs
- Retail and hospitality spaces
- Industrial and warehouse environments
- As-built and renovation documentation Responsibilities
- Produce clean, accurate, permit-ready construction documents (CDs) in AutoCAD — this is the core of the role
- Develop floor plans, RCPs, elevations, and finish/detail sheets that meet code and client standards
- Support interior design development, finish selections, materials research, and space planning
- Assist with FF&E selection, specifications, and package preparation
- Coordinate with clients, field/scan teams, and consultants
- Turn point cloud / scan data into precise 2D drawings (we'll train you on our scan-to-CAD workflow)
- Participate in project meetings and design reviews
- Support projects throughout the design and construction process Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited Interior Design program (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of professional commercial interior design or drafting experience
- Expert-level AutoCAD skills — required
- Demonstrated ability to independently produce construction documents (portfolio sample required)
- Working knowledge of building codes and construction documentation
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment Preferred (Not Required)
- Revit / BIM experience (a plus — AutoCAD is our primary tool)
- NCIDQ certification or active candidacy
- Point cloud / LiDAR / scan-to-CAD experience (NavVis, Faro, Leica, Matterport, ReCap)
- Experience with tenant improvements and commercial finish-outs
- Skills in 3D renderings/models Preferred Background Candidates from reputable Interior Design programs such as:
- Texas Tech University
- University of North Texas (UNT)
- University of Oklahoma
