Job Description

Step into an impactful role supporting student success as a school-based Sign Language Interpreter. This full-time contract opportunity runs from ASAP through May 28, 2027, providing dedicated 1:1 support for a student at an elementary school. You'll work within standard school hours (8:00 AM 2:30 PM, 40 hours per week), immersed in a collaborative educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 interpreting services for a student throughout the school day, ensuring full communication access Collaborate with educational teams, teachers, and school staff to facilitate an inclusive classroom experience Support the students academic, social, and behavioral development Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards Consistently demonstrate reliable attendance and full schedule commitment
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Alabama SLI/Interpreter license or permit (required) Recognized interpreting certification such as RID, EIPA, or BEI (preferred) Previous school-based interpreting experience (preferred) Experience providing 1:1 support to students Strong communication and interpersonal skills Dependable, with a proven track record of commitment and reliability Ability to work standard school hours and fulfill the assignments full duration This assignment offers the chance to make a real difference in a students educational journey.
