Job Description

Bring your skills as a Sign Language Interpreter to support an inclusive learning environment for deaf and hard-of-hearing students throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. Two full-time onsite positions are open for passionate interpreters who can provide reliable American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation in school settings. You'll serve as a vital communication bridge, ensuring students have full access to classroom instruction and school activities. Your role will empower students to participate meaningfully in their education, while also fostering collaboration among teachers, school personnel, and families. Be prepared to be an integral part of a dedicated educational team, making a positive impact every day.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide ASL interpretation for students during instructional periods, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities. Facilitate clear communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers. Protect confidentiality, complying with FERPA and district privacy standards. Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers. Prepare by reviewing classroom materials and upcoming assignments. Adhere to professional standards and ethical guidelines for educational interpreters.
Desired Qualifications:
Hold or qualify for Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization. Associate's degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, ASL, or a related discipline. Successful completion of the EIPA Written Examination. EIPA Performance score of 3.5+ or current RID Certification. Meet all state and district employment criteria, including background checks. Strong ASL proficiency, communication, and interpersonal skills. The schedule runs Monday through Friday and aligns with the district academic calendar for a predictable, stable workweek.
