Job Description

Step into a vital educational support role as a full-time, onsite Sign Language Interpreter and help create an inclusive academic environment for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. For the 2026-2027 school year, two skilled professionals are needed to facilitate seamless communication among students, teachers, staff, and peers, ensuring every student has access to educational opportunities and school life.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver clear, accurate American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation throughout the school day, including classroom instruction, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities. Bridge communication between students, educators, school personnel, and other stakeholders. Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with FERPA guidelines and district policies. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure student engagement and success. Prepare for assignments by reviewing instructional materials to optimize interpreting accuracy. Adhere to all professional standards and ethical practices specific to educational interpreting.
Desired Qualifications:
Colorado Educational Interpreter Authorization, or eligibility to obtain one through the Colorado Department of Education. Associate's degree or higher in Educational Interpreting, American Sign Language, or a closely related field. Completion of the EIPA Written Examination. EIPA Performance Score of 3.5 or higher, or current Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Certification. Ability to fulfill all Colorado Department of Education and district hiring requirements, including successful background screening. Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills. Prior experience interpreting in educational settings and demonstrated proficiency in ASL highly valued. This full-time contract role follows the district's academic calendar, operating Monday through Friday onsite.
