You'll be filling an immediate need, taking over for an on-site interpreter who is transitioning out of the position. Qualifications:
Certification or credentials as a Sign Language Interpreter (RID or EIPA preferred). Demonstrated proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and English. Prior experience interpreting within educational or school settings, especially at the high school level. Ability to foster an inclusive and positive learning environment. Commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics. Flexibility and adaptability to respond to student and classroom needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities between staff and the assigned student. Clarify and reinforce spoken material to enhance understanding. Facilitate communication during extracurricular activities, meetings, and school events as needed. Support the student's participation and engagement with peers and staff.
