This contract opportunity offers the chance to make a difference across the full school year, collaborating with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (DHH), including those in a satellite program. Located onsite near Orland Park, IL, youll work for 32.5 hours each week and play an important role in supporting accessible communication and learning.

Desired Background and Credentials:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and strong interpreting skills in educational settings Current Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement (state/discipline specific) Experience working with DHH students in school environments is preferred Flexibility to adapt to varying grade levels and work at multiple school sites as needed Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication abilities

Key Responsibilities:

Provide accurate sign language interpreting for students and staff in classroom and satellite program settings Assist DHH students in accessing curriculum content, classroom discussions, and school activities Collaborate with general/special education team members and related service providers Support the educational and social inclusion of DHH students at the assigned location(s) Maintain professional and ethical interpreting practices
