Qualifications and Experience Sought:

Current certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Demonstrated experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing adolescents in a school environment Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities Strong collaboration skills for working closely with general educators, families, and support staff Commitment to creating an inclusive, empowering classroom environment

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to high school students needs Facilitate lesson delivery in core academic areas, adapting materials and instruction to maximize learning Use a variety of communication methods, including sign language, cued speech, or assistive technology Assess student progress regularly and communicate results to parents and professionals Advocate for students needs and foster skills for independence and self-advocacy Provide insight and training to staff on best practices for supporting Deaf and Hard of Hearing learners This full-time role, scheduled from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., offers rewarding compensation of $60+ per hour.
