Job Description
Step into a vital role supporting students communication and learning within an energetic school environment near Round Lake, IL! We are seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter for a contract opportunity available in both full-time and part-time capacities. In this position, youll provide essential access to education for high school students who are Deaf or hard of hearing. The full-time role will be split between two sites, serving a diverse K12 population Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The part-time assignment focuses on high school grades 912, with consistent morning hours (MondayFriday, 8:00 AM12:00 PM) at a single location. Youll be working closely with a caseload of 12 high school students, typically interpreting for one student per classroom, from August 10th, 2026 (including institute/training days), through May 20th, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
EIPA score of 3.5+ and Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) Approval, or EIPA score of 3.03.4 with ISBE Interim Approval BEI or NIC credentials, provided ISBE Approval is in place Prior experience in educational settings preferred Strong communication, collaboration, and professionalism Commitment to facilitating inclusion and accessResponsibilities:
