This afternoon-based contract role is perfect for dedicated Sign Language Interpreters seeking a consistent, impactful schedule. Youll help create accessible learning experiences each school day, guiding communication and fostering understanding from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter with skills tailored to educational settings EIPA score of 3.0 or higher required PEL (Professional Educator License) status: either active or having applied for qualifications to interpret in schools Commitment to working with high school-age students in a supportive role Previous experience in a school setting is a plus, though not required

Responsibilities:

Provide clear and accurate sign language interpretation for one high school student throughout the afternoon instructional period each day Collaborate closely with educators and school staff to ensure communication access and student engagement Adapt interpreting to a variety of classroom situations and content areas Foster a positive, inclusive environment that encourages student participation Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions
