Job Description
Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students by supporting those with hearing impairments in a dynamic educational environment near Kenner, LA. As a full-time Sign Language Interpreter, you will work Monday through Friday (37.5 hours/week) following the school calendar, reporting to the Coordinator of Speech, Hearing and Autism within the Student Support Unit. Your role involves providing essential IEP-directed educational services to students with hearing impairments. You'll facilitate their integration into mainstream classrooms, consult with educators to maximize learning opportunities, and ensure students' needs are met through tailored support and appropriate materials or auditory equipment. The position also includes providing in-service training to regular school personnel, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere for all students.
