Job Description

Exciting opportunity for a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to support K-12 students in a dynamic Maryland school district! This full-time, contract-based position is perfect for experienced professionals committed to enhancing student access and engagement through expert interpretation services. Youll work with students on a 1:1 basis, ensuring seamless communication and a supportive educational environment from now through May 2027. Your background in educational interpreting will help students thrive alongside their peers and educators, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive school community.
Key Qualifications:
Current EIPA score of 3.0 or higher (required) Experience supporting elementary through high school (K-12) students Ability to provide 1:1 interpreting tailored to student needs Knowledge of IEP requirements and classroom protocols Strong collaboration skills for working with faculty and school staff
Responsibilities:
Provide sign language interpretation for assigned student in classroom and school settings Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and peers Support participation in instructional activities, assemblies, and extracurricular events Adapt interpreting approaches for academic, social, and behavioral contexts Maintain professionalism and confidentiality consistently Participate in team meetings, IEPs, and professional development as needed
