Responsibilities Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Providing in-person American Sign Language (ASL) interpreting services for students in an educational setting Facilitating communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and teachers, peers, school staff, and other individuals Accurately interpreting spoken language into ASL and ASL into spoken English while maintaining the intended meaning and context Supporting student access to classroom instruction, educational activities, meetings, and other school-related interactions Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to professional standards and ethical guidelines Collaborating with educators and other members of the educational team to support student communication needs Preparing for assignments by reviewing relevant educational materials and terminology as appropriate Participating in meetings or professional development activities as required Specific responsibilities may vary based on the assigned student(s), school location, and program needs.
