Job Description

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting a diverse K-12 student population as a 1:1 Sign Language Interpreter. In this full-time role, you will provide essential communication support for a student, helping bridge gaps and foster inclusion within the educational environment. This assignment begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of May 2027.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with an EIPA score of 3.0 or higher Previous experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a K-12 setting Strong proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with various modes of communication Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, therapists, and families Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding student privacy
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver one-on-one interpretive support to a designated student across classroom activities, extracurricular events, and school functions Accurately facilitate communication between the student, their peers, and school staff, ensuring full access to educational content Adapt interpreting style to accommodate individual needs, learning environments, and subject matter Assist in fostering an inclusive classroom atmosphere and promoting positive social interactions Collaborate with educational teams to develop and implement effective communication strategies Document progress and participate in meetings as required This assignment offers the chance to impact a student's educational journey while working within a supportive school environment.
