9681726-20653 Job Description Seeking a dynamic Sign Language Interpreter to provide dedicated 1:1 support within a school setting serving students from kindergarten through twelfth grade. This contract opportunity begins immediately and extends through late May 2027. Youll play a vital role as a communication bridge, empowering students who are deaf or hard of hearing to fully engage in their educational journey.

Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) EIPA score of 3.0 or higher required Experience working in educational environments, especially with K-12 students Exceptional interpersonal skills for collaborating with teachers, support staff, and families Flexibility and resourcefulness in adapting to different classroom settings Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries

Role Responsibilities:

Provide 1:1 interpreting services for a designated student throughout the instructional day Accurately and effectively convey spoken communication into ASL and vice versa Collaborate closely with teachers and school staff to support student participation and academic progress Assist with classroom activities, field trips, and school events as needed Support IEP implementation related to communication access Help foster an inclusive and equitable classroom environment Maintain detailed records of services provided and student progress This full-time contract role offers the unique chance to make a difference in a students educational success story while expanding your own skills as an interpreter in a supportive and mission-driven environment.
