Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Providing essential communication support, this contract opportunity seeks a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to assist young students in Red Wing, MN. The role focuses on enabling two students in 1st and 2nd grade to fully participate in their classroom environments through effective interpretation services.

Contract Length:

Immediate start with an end date of May 28, with potential continuation into the next school year

Hours:

Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.

Caseload:

Supporting 2 students, sharing duties with another interpreter for comprehensive coverage

Qualifications:

An EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 4.0 or higher, or current RID (Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf) / NAD (National Association of the Deaf) Certification Preferred minimum of 2 years' experience in sign language interpreting within educational settings

Responsibilities:

Collaboratively switching interpretation duties with a team interpreter to ensure continuous communication access for the students Facilitating classroom communication between students, teachers, and peers to support equitable learning experiences Maintaining professional standards in ethics and confidentiality while working in the school environment
