Category Schools - Sign Language Interpreter Job Type All Job Types Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting student success as an onsite Sign Language Interpreter in a dynamic elementary school setting near Clemmons, NC. With a full-time, 40-hour work week, you will play a key role aiding an elementary student's learning journey through effective communication and daily classroom integration. This position focuses on 1:1 interpreting, ensuring that the student receives seamless access to academic content, school activities, and social experiences. Your expertise will make a vital difference, supporting both instruction and student engagement within an inclusive environment. What you'll bring: Current proficiency in sign language (ASL) with a 3.0 or higher EIPA Score (required) Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter, especially in school settings, is highly valued Ability to communicate clearly and interpret with accuracy in real-time classroom scenarios Flexibility, professionalism, and an adaptive approach to meet the student's changing needs Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality and ethical interpreting standards Primary responsibilities: Provide 1:1 interpretation services for an elementary student throughout the school day Facilitate clear and effective communication between the student, peers, and staff Support academic instruction, school events, and extracurricular activities as needed Adapt interpreting strategies to ensure accessibility across diverse classroom environments Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to promote an inclusive learning experience This is a fulfilling, onsite opportunity to apply your sign language expertise—and contribute to a meaningful, daily impact in an educational setting.
