ASL Interpreter | Morganton, North Carolina

Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. A school is seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Kindergarten student. Responsibilities:

Provide accurate and timely sign language interpretation for a Kindergarten student during classroom activities and one-on-one interactions. Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers to support academic and social development. Assist in creating an inclusive learning environment that respects the student's communication needs. Collaborate with educational staff to support the student's individual learning plan. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

Desired Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills. Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in a school or educational setting, preferably with young children. Ability to provide focused 1:1 support tailored to a Kindergarten student's developmental needs. Knowledge of educational terminology and classroom protocols. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of an educational team.
