Step into a meaningful role supporting students access to learning as a Sign Language Interpreter. This contract position spans the full academic year from August 3, 2026, through May 28, 2027, offering you the opportunity to foster communication and understanding in an educational setting. Youll work Monday through Friday, maintaining a predictable schedule of 35 hours per week, from 7:00 am to 2:30 pm, at Troutman Elementary. In this dynamic position, youll serve a 1:1 caseload, helping to bridge language gaps and empower your designated student to thrive in their classes. Your expertise will ensure seamless communication, fostering a supportive, inclusive environment.
Qualifications:
Hold a valid license as a Sign Language Interpreter. EIPA score of 3.5 or higher, or possess RID certification (either credential qualifies). Comfortable working onsite only; remote interpreting is not available. Able to arrive early each day, ready before student arrival.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide accurate interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language in classrooms and other school settings. Support student participation by facilitating clear communication with teachers, peers, and staff. Collaborate with educators and support staff to promote full inclusion. Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all situations.
