As a Sign Language Interpreter, you'll be instrumental in helping a young learner thrive, ensuring equal access to educational experiences throughout the full school year. Your expertise will help bridge communication gaps, fostering confidence and academic success for the student you serve. What we're looking for: Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) Experience providing interpretation services in educational settings Strong understanding of Deaf culture and advocacy for accessible learning Effective communication skills with students, staff, and families Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment Certification or credentials per state requirements preferred Key responsibilities: Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for an elementary student during classroom instruction and related school activities Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure accommodations and modifications are implemented Facilitate understanding of spoken content, student questions, and peer interactions Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical interpreter standards at all times Assist in preparing necessary materials to enhance student communication and participation What you can look forward to: A stable, full-time schedule totaling 32 hours per week The opportunity to work the full academic school year The rewarding experience of making a direct, positive impact on a child's educational journey Take your sign language skills to the next level and play a meaningful role in shaping a student's success. to begin an enriching assignment and help build a more accessible future in education!
