Responsible for interpreting sign language into oral or written language in the school setting; providing individual and / or small group instructional strategies to students under the supervision of licensed staff; monitoring and supporting students during special activities; preparing and modifying instructional materials to meet students' language and auditory needs; collecting data for IEP goals and behavior plans; and monitoring and providing feedback to staff on student progress. Applicant must have the ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team, along with good communication and collaboration skills. Sign Language Interpreter must have an Educational Interpreter Authorization (EIPA) This position may require travel between various schools within the district. Preference given to applicants with strong ASL skills and experience.EDUCATION AND RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Associates Degree or completion of an Educational Interpreter Program Previous experience as an interpreter in an educational setting desirable LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS orCERTIFICATIONS
Criminal background check required for hire. Educational Interpreter certificate as set forth by the Colorado Department of Education for educational interpreters CPR and First Aid certifications preferred. Without EIPA Authorization, must be able to pass a Boys Town Screener and EIPA Assessment within the year. This position is 8.0 hours per day If the candidate has an Associate's degree, salary for this position starts at a Grade 10 at $30.03 per hour If the candidate has a Bachelor's degree with completed EIPA, salary for this position starts at a Grade 11 at $31.84 per hour (Classified Salary Schedule)BENEFIT INFORMATION
