Job Description

Make a meaningful difference each day by supporting a kindergartener as an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter in a dynamic K-12 environment. This contract opportunity runs from ASAP through June 4th, 2027, offering consistency and a rewarding experience working exclusively with one student. Desired Qualifications:
Valid Virginia Quality Assurance Screening (VQAS) Level III, or OR Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5+ with passing written component, OR National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or equivalent recognized national certification. Previous experience in an educational setting is highly valued. Committed to working onsite only. Strong interpersonal skills and dedication to student success. Patient, flexible, and passionate about partnering with young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide in-person ASL interpretation for a kindergarten student throughout the school day. Collaborate with classroom educators, school specialists, and the students support team to facilitate effective communication and inclusion. Adapt interpreting style to meet the individual needs of a young learner. Support daily classroom activities and engagement, enabling the students fullest participation. Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all communications.
