This full-time contract-to-hire opportunity offers a consistent 37.5-hour workweek for the entire 2026-2027 academic year, providing stability and the chance to make a meaningful difference throughout the school year. Highly qualified interpreters with a passion for education are encouraged to apply. Candidates should possess either a 3.5 EIPA score or VQAS Level II/III credentials. Previous experience working in a school-based setting is preferred, as you'll be collaborating closely with both students and staff to facilitate communication and inclusion.
Key Qualifications:
Valid certification: EIPA 3.5+ or VQAS Level II/III Background in educational interpreting strongly preferred Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with interpreting protocols Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with students of varying ages Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and teamwork
Core Responsibilities:
Interpret spoken language into sign language (and vice versa) during classes, meetings, and school events Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support student access Encourage student participation in academic and social activities Adhere to ethical standards and maintain student confidentiality at all times
