Key Qualifications:

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with strong interpreting skills in educational settings Current certification or credentials required for school-based interpreting (such as EIPA, RID, or state certifications) Experience working with students in K-12 environments preferred Compassion, adaptability, and commitment to inclusion and equal access for all learners Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, specialists, and families across multiple locations Excellent organizational and time management abilities, as you will rotate between different sites based on student needs

What Youll Do:

Provide real-time sign language interpretation for classroom instruction, school assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities Facilitate two-way communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and school personnel Support students academic and social participation by interpreting directions, lectures, discussions, and peer interactions Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards for interpreters in educational settings Travel between assigned school sites as scheduled, ensuring reliable and consistent service Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and strategies for equitable access This role offers the chance to make a difference with every interaction and enjoy variety by serving more than one location.
