Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Stagehand Technician to join our vibrant theatrical production team. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting live performances and stage productions by managing technical equipment, assisting with set changes, and ensuring seamless execution of all stage operations. Your expertise will help bring creative visions to life, creating memorable experiences for audiences. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment where your technical skills and passion for the performing arts will shine. Duties Set up, operate, and troubleshoot theatrical lighting equipment, projection systems, sound systems, and stage rigging to support live performances. Assist with the installation and management of stage scenery, props, and theatrical sets in accordance with production requirements. Manage live event AV production projects, including coordinating audio-visual elements to enhance the overall performance experience. Collaborate with directors, performers, and production teams to execute stage cues accurately and efficiently during rehearsals and performances. Oversee safety protocols related to stage rigging, lighting, and sound equipment to ensure a secure environment for all team members and performers. Support managing theatrical production teams by assigning tasks, supervising technical crew members, and maintaining clear communication throughout the production process. Maintain detailed documentation of equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and budget management related to technical resources. Requirements Proven experience working with theatrical lighting equipment, sound systems, projection systems, and stage rigging in live performance settings. Strong understanding of stage productions, theater experience, and performing arts direction. Demonstrated ability to teach visual & performing arts techniques such as dancing or ballet is a plus. Excellent communication skills for public speaking, team coordination, and instructional purposes. Experience managing theatrical production teams or overseeing live event AV projects is highly desirable. Knowledge of budget management related to technical resources and equipment procurement. Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting heavy equipment, climbing ladders for rigging work, and standing for extended periods. Creative problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail to troubleshoot technical issues swiftly during performances.
