More about the role This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Field Service Technician in the Houston, TX, territory with Cooper Lighting Solutions, a business unit of Signify, the world leader in lighting. Travel to sites to commission installed lighting control systems to preform various responsibilities such as troubleshooting, proper installation verification, system programming, and customer training. Assist in gathering data for project commissioning, including completed panel schedule paperwork and other documents pertinent to job commissioning. Prepare and submit documentation regarding site visitations to the Phone Support Center to streamline continued support of the customer site. Assist with training field support representatives or lighting representatives. Provide backup phone support when not commissioning projects in the field by answering incoming calls and questions on the lighting control product line (i.e., implementation of hardware and computer software in the field, programming of controllers, wiring of components, arrangement for replacement parts, etc.). More about you While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening: High school diploma or vocational/trade school/technical degree in electrical, electronics, engineering, computer technology, or related; Associate degree preferred Experience in technical field service Must reside in the Houston, TX, geographical area and within 50 miles of a major airport; relocation assistance is not offered Able to travel up to 80% of the time and may be required to travel outside the assigned territory Physical requirements include standing, bending, and climbing ladders and/or stairs to perform assigned work • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future company sponsorship needs.
