Job Description
Position Summary Southwest Corridor, LLC is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Director of Home Automation & Luxury Audio/Video to build, lead, and grow our residential smart-home and custom-integration operation in Scottsdale, Arizona. This is not simply an AV installer or sales-manager position. We are looking for a division leader who can run sales and installation, develop a team, manage projects and profitability, and operate the department with the ownership mindset of a business leader. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with sales ability, operational leadership, project management, and business acumen. The Director will oversee projects from initial client or builder consultation through system design, estimating, proposal, sale, installation, programming, commissioning, client training, service, and ongoing support. Candidates should be certified, trained, or highly experienced in Control4, Savant, Crestron and/or Lutron. Experience with more than one major platform is strongly preferred. Previous business ownership or experience running a division, branch, department, or operating unit is highly desirable; however, we will consider a proven industry leader who has the capability and drive to run the business now. Division Leadership & Business Management
- Lead the Home Automation and Audio/Video division as a complete operating business unit and profit center.
- Develop and execute strategies to grow revenue, gross profit, market share, recurring service revenue, and customer retention.
- Establish sales goals, budgets, labor targets, project schedules, quality standards, and profitability expectations.
- Monitor project costs, labor utilization, material costs, gross margins, change orders, warranty exposure, and overall division performance.
- Build scalable operating procedures for estimating, sales, procurement, installation, programming, commissioning, service, and documentation.
- Recruit, train, manage, and develop technicians, programmers, project managers, sales personnel, and support staff as the division grows.
- Work directly with executive leadership on forecasting, staffing, purchasing, vendor relationships, capital needs, and strategic growth.
- Evaluate new technologies, manufacturers, product lines, and services that can strengthen the division and improve profitability. Sales & Business Development
- Personally generate, develop, present, negotiate, and close residential technology projects while building a scalable sales process.
- Meet with homeowners, custom-home builders, developers, architects, interior designers, and other decision-makers.
- Develop referral and recurring relationships with luxury builders, architects, designers, developers, real estate professionals, and related partners.
- Conduct client discovery meetings to identify technology requirements, lifestyle goals, budgets, and expectations.
- Prepare and/or oversee scopes of work, estimates, proposals, equipment lists, system designs, and client presentations.
- Ensure projects are sold at appropriate margins and that scope, exclusions, assumptions, allowances, and change-order requirements are clearly documented.
- Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, forecast, close ratio, and follow-up process.
- Identify upgrades, cross-selling opportunities, service agreements, and future technology refresh opportunities. System Design & Engineering
- Design or oversee integrated residential systems including whole-home automation, lighting and shading control, distributed audio/video, home theaters, media rooms, networking/Wi-Fi, surveillance, access control, climate integration, pool/spa integration, structured wiring, equipment racks, outdoor entertainment, and remote monitoring.
- Review architectural, electrical, reflected-ceiling, interior-design, and construction plans to determine infrastructure and equipment requirements.
- Develop reliable system architecture that balances performance, aesthetics, serviceability, future expansion, client expectations, and budget.
- Coordinate device locations, rack requirements, power, ventilation, wiring pathways, network infrastructure, keypads, touchscreens, speakers, displays, shades, cameras, and related equipment with the project team. Installation & Field Operations
- Manage projects from prewire and rough-in through trim, equipment installation, programming, commissioning, punch-list completion, and client turnover.
- Schedule technicians and coordinate field activities with builders, electricians, HVAC contractors, security contractors, cabinet companies, designers, and other trades.
- Establish and enforce standards for wire selection, labeling, termination, testing, rack construction, equipment installation, documentation, and jobsite cleanliness.
- Troubleshoot complex system, network, programming, and integration issues and provide technical leadership to the field team.
- Perform quality-control inspections and ensure projects are completed correctly, professionally, on schedule, and within budget.
- Participate directly in installation, programming, commissioning, or troubleshooting when needed to ensure successful project delivery. Programming & Technical Expertise
- Possess strong technical knowledge of Control4, Savant, Crestron and/or Lutron platforms; current or prior manufacturer certifications are strongly preferred.
- Have sufficient programming and system-architecture knowledge to manage programmers and technicians, review technical work, diagnose problems, and hold the technical team accountable.
- Maintain current knowledge of residential networking, IP-based devices, remote access, firmware/software management, cybersecurity fundamentals, and system documentation.
- Experience with premium residential technology brands and ecosystems such as Sonos, Josh.ai, Sonance, Origin Acoustics, KEF, Bowers & Wilkins, Marantz, Denon, Sony, Samsung, LG, Ubiquiti, Ruckus, Araknis, Pakedge, or comparable manufacturers is beneficial. Construction & Luxury Residential Experience
- Understand the sequencing and coordination requirements of new custom-home construction and major remodels.
- Participate effectively in construction meetings and coordinate rough-in, trim, equipment installation, programming, and final commissioning with the overall project schedule.
- Work closely with architects and interior designers regarding visible technology, speakers, televisions, keypads, touchscreens, shades, cameras, and equipment placement.
- Manage client changes and change orders throughout construction while protecting schedule and profitability.
- Luxury residential experience is strongly preferred, particularly with sophisticated custom homes and demanding clients. Client Experience & Service
- Serve as a senior point of contact for major clients and communicate technical concepts clearly to nontechnical customers.
- Set realistic expectations regarding system capabilities, budgets, schedules, installation impacts, and ongoing service requirements.
- Provide professional system demonstrations, client training, documentation, and turnover.
- Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally while protecting the company's reputation and long-term relationship.
- Develop recurring service offerings such as remote monitoring, network support, preventative maintenance, software/firmware updates, priority support, equipment upgrades, and technology refresh programs. Required Qualifications

- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and client-facing skills.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites as required.
