Studio & Design Team About The Malco Group:
The Malco Group, formed through Aspen Pumps Group's acquisition of Malco Tools in October 2024, is a leading manufacturer and distributor of high-quality HVACR and building construction solutions. Our portfolio includes trusted brands like Malco Tools, ACE Chemicals, C&D Valve and Veto Pro Pac Bags, delivering innovative tools, condensate pumps, cleaning chemicals, and HVACR system components to trade professionals across North America. Guided by a commitment to excellence, innovation, and sustainability, we empower HVACR professionals with turnkey solutions to enhance efficiency and performance.
Position Overview:
The Malco Group is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Studio Photo & Video Associate to join the in-house Studio & Design team. Reporting to the Studio Production Lead, this role will apply a solid foundation in photography and video production to support day-to-day studio needs, from capture and editing to file preparation and final delivery, for products across The Malco Group's portfolio, including Malco Tools and other sub-brands. This role will primarily focus on product photography and day-to-day studio production, while also supporting video and editing projects with opportunities to grow into short-form video and smaller productions. You will work within established brand, lighting, and production standards while learning the studio's workflows, file-naming conventions, and PIM/DAM systems, with increasing ownership over projects as you grow in the role. As a member of a cross-functional team, you will support product management, marketing, and sales with reliable, on-brand visual content, and help maintain the quality and consistency of the studio's growing asset library.
Key Responsibilities:
Capture standard and creative product photography and video (in-studio and on-location) across The Malco Group portfolio, under the direction of the Studio Production Lead. Reproduce established lighting, camera, composition, and post-production standards consistently across products and SKUs. Support photo and video projects from setup through delivery, including studio and job-site shoots, standard product stills, and 360 images, while building toward independent ownership of assigned production tasks from intake through final delivery. Set up lighting and sets following established brand and lighting standards while contributing creative ideas when appropriate. Edit photos, audio, and video using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or equivalent tools, optimizing for web, social, retail, and training formats. Correct and process images to meet retail-partner resolution and file specifications, supporting current asset library cleanup. Apply established file-naming conventions and organize, tag, and upload finished assets to the studio's PIM/DAM platform. Assist with basic motion graphics and kinetic typography (e.g., lower-thirds, text overlays, and call-outs) using existing templates and brand guidelines. Support in-field shoots at job sites, following building-construction PPE and industry safety guidelines. Assist with capturing and rough-cut editing of training videos for internal and external audiences. Help maintain and organize the photo and video studio, including shoot prep and reset, equipment organization, batteries, media/cards, lighting and audio equipment, product staging, and asset libraries. Provide on-site production support at trade shows, events, and influencer shoots as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in photography, videography, film production, digital media, marketing communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience). 1-3 years of hands-on photography and/or video production experience required; strong professional, freelance, internship, and other demonstrated production experience will be considered. A portfolio demonstrating product, commercial, or brand photography/video work is preferred. Foundational photography and video production skills, including capture, basic lighting, and basic editing. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Camera Raw) or equivalent tools. Familiarity with file formats, resolution, and optimization requirements for web, retail, and social. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to follow established processes, manage assigned work, ask questions when needed, receive feedback, and reliably follow projects through completion. Comfortable balancing creative projects with high-volume, detail-oriented product production. Ability to work well under direction while building toward independent ownership of routine product photography, editing, short-form video, and smaller production projects. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally. Eagerness to continue developing photography, video, editing, YouTube/video optimization, and PIM/DAM skills within a professional studio environment. Mechanical curiosity and interest in tools or the building construction industry is a plus. This role provides ongoing development and mentorship from the Studio Production Lead, with opportunities to take increasing ownership of product photography, editing, short-form video, internal/corporate video content and smaller productions over time. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 10% travel (job-site shoots, trade shows, and events).
