Job DescriptionThe Photographer/Editor is responsible for shooting and editing all elements of news stories for daily network news broadcasts.
Responsibilities:
Creatively visualizes stories told by reporters and producers utilizing HD camera and expert lightingResponsible for photographing and editing news and feature storiesCollaborates with Producers and Reporters for series, special reports, and/or long form contentAssists Reporters and Producers in the pre and post production processResponsible for maintaining equipment in good working condition at all timesWorks under the direct supervision of the Sr. Director News Operations & Production and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by supervisorQualificationsBasic Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of experience working as Photographer/Camera Operator in the fieldMinimum 2 years of experience as an EditorProven experience managing and/or assisting live transmissions via LiveU, satellite trucks or local microwavePrior experience and thorough understanding on how to send stories via wireless technologyProven proficiency using Avid 6.0 Media composer and Mac operating systemProven proficiency using Sony HD series professional broadcast and SLR camerasProven experience and proficiency in managing HD lighting and shot compositionMust be fully fluent in English and Spanish (both written and verbal)Desired Characteristics:
Ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, dead-line driven environmentAccustomed to working in a team and collaborating with all levels within the organizationProven editorial judgmentProven excellent interpersonal skills combined with a strong sense of how to visually tell a compelling story desiredStrong computer/technical background and ability to trouble shoot under pressureAdditional Requirements:
