Job Description

To serve as the Stage Manager or 1st Assistant Stage Manager for a mainstage Department of Theatre and Film production.
Career Readiness Competencies :
Communication Professionalism Teamwork Rehearsal Management:
Ensure smooth and efficient running of rehearsals, tape out floor plans, set up and clear rehearsal spaces as needed, request rehearsal props and costumes, and keep track of decisions made in the rehearsal process
Documentation:
Record blocking and maintain appropriate paperwork in prompt book, take line notes as needed, time all runs and rehearsals, and communicate changes and concerns through daily rehearsal reports
Cast & Crew Coordination:
Distribute forms, collect personal information from cast and crew, and provide prompting during rehearsals
Production Meetings:
Lead discussion in weekly production meetings
Performance Operations:
Run and call the show during performances and ensure all rehearsal and performance areas are secure after use Other duties as assigned in accordance with standard theatrical practice; a more specific detail of duties can be requested from the Stage Management supervisor Full-time student with minimum G.P.A. of 2.0 Working knowledge of stage management and theatrical procedures Willingness to work with fellow students and staff Able to do moderate lifting Able to follow verbal instructions Evening and weekend hours required
