Section 508 Document Remediation Specialist Fully Remote Job Type Full-time Description

  • Tanaq Support Services (TSS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services.

TSS is a subsidiary of the St. George Tanaq Corporation, an Alaskan Native Corporation (ANC) committed to serving Federal customers while also giving back to the Tanaq native community and shareholders.

  • About the Role
  • We are seeking a
  • Section 508 Document Remediation Specialist
  • to ensure digital documents, web content, training materials, and multimedia products meet federal accessibility requirements. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with document remediation, accessibility testing, and quality assurance. This is a fully remote position based in the United States.
  • Responsibilities
  • + Review and remediate Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF, web, and multimedia content for Section 508 compliance.

+ Correct document structure, reading order, headings, tables, forms, hyperlinks, color contrast, and alternative text.

+ Conduct manual and automated accessibility testing, including assistive technology checks.

+ Validate conformance with applicable Section 508 and WCAG requirements.

+ Prepare accessibility findings, remediation logs, and compliance documentation.

+ Provide practical accessibility guidance to content, communications, training, and web teams. Requirements

  • Required Skills and Experience
  • + At least 1 year of Section 508 accessibility remediation experience.

+ Proficiency remediating PDF and Microsoft 365 documents.

+ Knowledge of federal accessibility requirements and WCAG Level AA success criteria.

+ Experience with accessibility testing tools and assistive technologies.

+ Strong attention to detail, quality assurance, documentation, and client communication skills.

+ Ability to obtain government clearance.

+ Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

  • Preferred Qualifications
  • + DHS Trusted Tester, IAAP
CPACC, IAAP

WAS, or related accessibility certification.

+ Experience supporting higher education/federal government programs or contracts.

+ Experience with SharePoint Online and accessible multimedia.

  • + High School Diploma or GED
  • Physical Requirements
  • + Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. + May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
