About Us Valley Publications hosts some of the oldest newspaper in the State of Minnesota and Western Wisconsin, serving our communities with a proud tradition of local journalism. We are a trusted source for local news, events, and community connections throughout southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Valley Publications newspapers support one another and share resources. Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, organized, and community-minded writer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong writing skills who can manage their own schedule, build local relationships, and stay on top of weekly deadlines while covering communities in southeastern Minnesota and western Wisconsin. Key Responsibilities Write weekly articles covering local events, community happenings, sporting events, and local meetings Attend events and capture photography to highlight community stories Manage and respond to emails on a daily basis Maintain an organized workflow and meet consistent deadlines Build and maintain strong local connections and community sources throughout the region Qualifications Strong writing and editing experience Excellent organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule Comfortable attending community events and interacting with the public Basic photography skills preferred Knowledge of southeastern Minnesota or western Wisconsin communities is a plus Why Join Us?
